Our
outreach to young people is the cornerstone of our mission
to foster jazz appreciation and knowledge. This year,
well be reaching over 10,000 children
through our educational programs:
Jazz in the Schools introduces elementary children to
the wonders and history of jazz. In
these programs, jazz artists combine performance and lecture
to teach children about the excitement and beauty of jazz,
with special emphasis on the immense contributions of
Toledo native and jazz legend Art Tatum, considered the
finest jazz pianist of all time.
